1.    Kalpitiya: Located on the north-western coast, Kalpitiya is a renowned hotspot for both wind and kite surfing. The Kalpitiya Lagoon provides a shallow and safe environment for beginners, while the open sea offers challenging conditions for advanced surfers. The windy season in Kalpitiya typically runs from May to October.
2.    Arugam Bay: While Arugam Bay on the east coast is more famous for its world-class surfing, it also offers opportunities for wind and kite surfing. The windy season on the east coast is generally from April to September. The bay has a laid-back atmosphere and attracts surfers and water sports enthusiasts from around the world.
3.    Negombo: Close to the Bandaranaike International Airport, Negombo is a convenient location for those looking to engage in water sports shortly after arriving in Sri Lanka. The windy season in Negombo is from December to March.
4.    Mannar: The Mannar Peninsula in the north-western part of Sri Lanka is gaining popularity for its flat water conditions, making it suitable for both beginners and advanced riders. The windy season in Mannar is from May to October.
5.    Trincomalee: Another spot on the east coast, Trincomalee offers good wind conditions for wind and kite surfing during the windy season from April to September. The expansive beaches and clear waters make it a picturesque location for water sports.
6.    Weligama: While Weligama is more famous for its surf breaks, it also sees some wind activity, particularly during the December to March period. It may not be as consistent as some other spots, but the surf culture in Weligama makes it an interesting place for water sports enthusiasts.
